The Full Story
About...
Where do I start ? Perhaps at the beginning of my career.....
I gained a BEd (Hons) degree with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), in 1996 and taught in Croydon for 16 years. During this time I taught across all Key Stages, from nursery to Year 6, and was an Advanced Skills Teacher for Languages (English, French & Spanish).
In 2013, I was approached by neighbours to open a preschool in the village where I live. I saw this as a privileged opportunity to give back to, and serve the community of Lower Kingswood. Hence, I opened Little Acorns pre-school. I was awarded a Masters Degree in Childhood Studies in 2019. For nine years I have had the pleasure of watching the youngest members of our community flourish and grow.
Now, it is time for a slight change of direction, but still doing what I love best - teaching and nurturing children. The name for my childminding business, 'Nanny Pat's' came from my sons. They chose the name as they loved their Nanny Pat (my mum), who sadly passed away in 2018. Notwithstanding my teaching career, my sons have been my biggest reward and achievement, and I wholeheartedly approve of the name!

It is situated in the beautiful countryside village of Lower Kingswood. Thus, making use of the common, woodlands, my extensive garden and the park at the end of the road is guaranteed..
